Bourtange Star Fort Netherlands
Bourtange is a village in the Westerwolde district of the Dutch region of Groningen. It is a part of the region of Vlagtwedde and lies in the vicinity of 32 km northeast of Emmen. Bourtange was a divided region until 1822, when it was consolidated with Vlagtwedde. In 1851 the star fortress was surrendered and Bourtange got a standard village. Around 1960 living conditions in the village disintegrated and it was chosen that Bourtange might be revamped to its state of 1740 to 1750. Today it is an outdoors display center. In 2001 the town of Bourtange had 267 occupants. The advanced region of the town was 0.21 km², and held 133 homes. The statistical zone Bourtange, which additionally can incorporate the encompassing wide open.
